BRONX, N.Y. – A pair of rookies set the pace for Fairfield University Men's Cross Country on Friday morning at the Br. Doyle Meet of Champions.
Jacob Bornstein and
Alexandre' McMillian were the first two Stags to cross the finish line at historic Van Cortlandt Park as Fairfield placed 10th overall.

Bornstein finished in 54th place top crack the top half of the loaded 115-runner field. The freshman has paced the Stags in both of their meets thus far this fall. McMillian was followed by
Bryce Zapusek,
Pacifico Flores,
Thomas VanDerslice and
Devin Flores.

Temple won the team title handily over second-place Johns Hopkins, paced by a pair of top-five finishers. The individual winner was Lachlan Wellington from Iona; the host Gaels only fielded a four-man squad, and did not factor into the team scoring.

The Stags return to action two weeks from today at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University.
