LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Jacob Bornstein set the pace for Fairfield University Men's Cross Country in Saturday morning's season opening Siena Invitational. Bornstein finished the 8K course at The Crossings of Colonie in 27:26.9 in his collegiate debut.

Individually, Bornstein placed 29th in a field of 91 harriers.
Pacifico Flores was also in the top half of the pack, finishing in 44th place with a time of 28:22.4.

Alexandre' McMillian also scored for the Stags in his first collegiate race, with
Bryce Zapusek and
James Vizzard rounding out the quintet to account of Fairfield's final tally.
Finn Grosso and
Aidan Donovan also hit the course this morning in New York's capital region.

On the team leaderboard, Fairfield placed fifth of six teams. The Stags topped Le Moyne on the ledger while trailing Siena, Marist, Albany and Union. The Saints won their home meet led by the top three individual finishers and six of the first seven to cross the line. Brandon Olden set the individual pace with a winning time of 25:28.4.

Fairfield returns to action in New York on Friday, Sept. 17 at venerable Van Cortlandt Park for the Br. Doyle Meet of Champions hosted by Iona.
