BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – Addy Douglas finished one shot off the lead and
Diana Velez also cracked the top five to lead Fairfield University Women's Golf to second place at the Hartford/Wintonbury Hills Invitational on Friday in Bloomfield. The Stags finished just five strokes behind tournament winner Quinnipiac on the team leaderboard.

Douglas carded a 72 (+2) through her 18 holes at Wintonbury Hills Golf Course. She was edged by Quinnipiac's Leeyen Peralta by one shot for medalist honors. Velez added a 76 (+6) to share fifth place on the individual ledger and
Riley Sullivan was also among the top-10 finishers with a ninth-place 77 (+7).

Rounding out the scorers for the Stags,
Alexa Brown and
Mariana Antaya each turned in an 81 (+11).

Fairfield's 306 (+26) placed them ahead of Siena, LIU, Sacred Heart, Hartford and Merrimack. Quinnipiac won the team title with a 301 (+21).

The Stags are back in action on Wednesday, April 7 for the Fairfield One Day at H. Smith Richardson Golf Course.
