Stags Compete at New England Championships

Bornstein leads the way for Fairfield

BOSTON – Jacob Bornstein set the pace for Fairfield University Men's Cross Country in his first New England Championship meet. The rookie harrier completed the 8K course at Franklin Park in Boston with a time of 26:54.3. Pacifico Flores was the second Stag to finish, crossing the line in 27:30.1.
 
Finn Grosso, Alexandre' McMillian and Bryce Zapusek rounded out the Stags' quintet of scoring runners as Fairfield placed 22nd of 24 teams. Dartmouth won the New England Championship, paced by four of the top 11 individual finishers. Ezra Mutai of American International was the individual winner with a time of 23:56.4.
 
Up next, the Stags break from their Championship Season on Friday, Oct. 22 at the CCSU Mini-Meet in New Britain. The race at Stanley Quarter Park will be Fairfield's final competition before the 2021 MAAC Championship at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
