Ten Stags Tabbed for MAAC 40th Anniversary Cross Country Team

EDISON, N.J. – A total of 10 alumni representing Fairfield University Men's and Women's Cross Country have been selected to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) 40th Anniversary Team. The list of honorees includes three members of the Fairfield Athletics Hall of Fame.
 
Sam Daly (2013-16)
A consistent pacesetter during his four years with the Stags, Sam Daly placed 10th at the 2016 MAAC Championship to earn All-MAAC honors. Daly was the first Stag to crack the top 10 at the conference meet in 20 years.
 
Ben Heslin (2007-10)
Ben Heslin was a three-year captain of the Stags. He paced Fairfield at two MAAC Championships, including a 16th-place individual performance in 2009. Heslin capped his career as the recipient of Fairfield's prestigious William Wallin Memorial Award in 2011.
 
Ian MacNeill (1993-96)
Fairfield Hall of Famer Ian MacNeill was the Stags' top finisher at three MAAC Championships, including eighth place in 1995 and fifth place in 1996. Those two performances mark the best finishes by an individual Stag in MAAC Championship history, leading Fairfield to fourth place in both campaigns.
 
Bryan Mahoney (2001-04)
Bryan Mahoney set the pace for the Stags at four consecutive MAAC Championships. He was a two-year captain for Fairfield in his junior and senior campaigns.
 
Howie Rosas (2010-13)
Howie Rosas clocked in three top-25 finishes at the MAAC Championship, including a personal-best 15th place in 2012. The Stags finished fourth on three occasions during his tenure. Rosas was the 2014 recipient of the William Wallin Memorial Award.
 
Frances Arthurs (1991-94)
Frances Arthurs posted back-to-back third place finishes at the MAAC Championship for the Stags in 1993 and 1994. She was named Fairfield's Female Athlete of the Year after her senior season and was inducted into the Fairfield Athletics Hall of Fame in 2000. Arthurs was also the first Stag to run a sub-20 minute 5K at Van Cortlandt Park.
 
Rachel Borek (1995-98)
Rachel Borek set the pace for the Stags at four consecutive MAAC Championships. She was a two-year captain for Fairfield in her junior and senior campaigns.
 
Maureen Crimmins (2011-14)
Fairfield's top finisher at the MAAC Championship on three occasions, Crimmins placed a personal-best 13th at the conference meet in 2012. A two-year team captain, she graduated as the owner of the two fastest times at Van Cortlandt Park in program history.
 
Kristen Golen (2008-11)
A two-year captain and Fairfield's pacesetter at the 2008 MAAC Championship, Kristen Golen ran several of the best times at Van Cortlandt Park in program history. She graduated with two spots in the top five on that leaderboard.
 
Erin Heslin (1999-02)
Erin Heslin was the 2002-03 Fairfield Female Athlete of the Year following an All-MAAC ninth-place showing at the 2002 MAAC Championship. The performance marked her third time leading the Stags at the conference meet. Heslin was inducted into the Fairfield Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.
