Field Hockey Announces All-Decade Team

The Fairfield University field hockey program announced its All-Decade team following the completion of the selection process that included fan voting. Eleven starters, four reserves, a wild card pick, and a fan's choice comprise the Stags Field Hockey All-Decade Team.

Forwards
Ann Burgoyne (2013-16) – Voted 2015 MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, Secured 2014 ECAC All-Star 2nd Team; 2014 America East Offensive Player of the Year, 2014 AE 1st Team, NFHCA Mideast Region, NFHCA Mideast Region, 2015 ECAC All-Star 2nd Team, 2015 All-MAAC 1st team, NFHCA Division I All-Star Game, 2016 All-MAAC 1st Team spots; Finished her career with school records for total points (126) and goals scored (56); Tied the school standard with nine game winning goals; Established school record for goals in a season with 19, hitting the mark in both 2014 and 2015.

Hannah Pike (2016-17) - Named the 2017 MAAC Tournament MVP after scoring five goals in two games including both goals in a 2-1 victory in the championship game; Voted to 2016 All-MAAC 2nd Team; 2017 All-MAAC 2nd Team; 2017 NFHCA Mideast Region); Played two seasons as a graduate student; Started her career with eight goals and six assists for 22 points in 2016; Followed up with nine goals and six assists for a team-best 24 points in 2017; Finished with 17 goals and 12 assists for 46 career points;

Dani Profita (2017-Present) – Postseason honors include 2019 NFHCA Mideast Region; 2019 All-NEC 1st Team; Placed in the top four for scoring in each of her first three seasons with the Stags; Led the team in scoring as a junior with eight goals and nine assists for 25 points; Scored game-winning goal in Stags' first NCAA Tournament win in 2019; Was one of only three Stags to start all 22 games in the 2019 campaign; Secured the second spot in scoring with seven goals and five assists for 19 points as a sophomore; Made her debut with three goals and two assists for eight points in 2017

Marit Westenberg (2008-11) – Received berths to 2010 AE 2nd Team, 2011 NFHCA Mideast Region, 2011 AE 1st Team, and 2011 NFHCA Senior All-Star Game; Finished her career with 75 points which stands in the top 10 on Fairfield leaders list. Also stands in the top 10 for goals scored with 31 in her career and ranks second with eight game-winning goals. Registered 13 career assists which ranks 15th in Fairfield scoring annals; Earned Fairfield University Student-Athlete of the Year

Midfielders
Julie de Paeuw (2013-2016) – Earned 2013 AE 2nd Team, 2013 AE All-Rookie, 2014 AE 2nd Team, 2015 NFHCA Mideast Region, 2015 MAAC Player of the Year; 2015 All-MAAC 1st Team, 2016 NFHCA Senior All-Star, and 2016 All-MAAC 1st Team berths; Named 2015 Fairfield University Female Athlete of the Year; Ranked among the top 10 scorers following her graduation with 70 points. Also among the program's leaders with 26 career goals and 18 career assists; Stands fifth all-time with seven game-winning goals

Luzi Persiehl - (2018-Present) Career honors included 2018 MAAC Rookie of the Year; 2018 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year; 2018 All-MAAC 1st Team; 2018 NFHCA Mideast Region; 2019 NFHCA Mideast Region; 2019 NFHCA All-American; 2019 NEC Player of the Year; and 2019 All-NEC First Team; Collected at least one defensive save in each of her first two seasons; Also played a role offensively beginning with a goal and two assists in her rookie season; Followed up with 23 points as a sophomore, registering six goals and 11 assists for 23 points; All seven of her career goals have been game winners

Shealyn Testa (2010-13) – Collected 2010 AE All-Rookie, 2012 AE 2nd Team, and 2013 AE 2nd Team accolades; Registered 10 goals and 14 assists over 74 games; Scored at least one point in each of her four seasons, highlighted by her career-best 19 points off six goals and seven assists as a senior; Led the Stags with three game-winning goals during the 2013 campaign
 
Defenders
Erin Buckley (2014-17) – Received 2015 All-MAAC 2nd Team, 2015 MAAC Tournament MVP, 2016 All-MAAC 1st Team 2017 All-MAAC 1st Team, and 2017 NFHCA Mideast Region nods; Named 2017 MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year; Contributed on both ends of the pitch; Added points to her career total in each of her final three seasons; Finished with 11 goals and three assists for 25 points over her 69 games with the Stags; Started 56 of those appearances

Kelly Buckley (2017-Present) Voted to 2019 NFHCA Mideast Region, 2019 NEC Defensive Player of the Year, and 2019 All-NEC 1st Team; Came off the bench for 11 games as a rookie before starting her last 42 appearances over the last two seasons; Collected her first offensive point with an assist in 2018; Had a hand in four goals in 2019 with two goals and two assists

Felicitas Heinen (2011-14) – Selected to 2012 AE 1st Team, 2012 NFHCA Mideast Region, 2013 AE 1st Team, 2013 NFHC Mideast Region, 2014 NFHCA Mideast Region, 2014 ECAC All-Star 2nd Team, 2014 America East Defensive Player of the Year, and 2014 AE 1st Team; Ended her career as the program's all-time leading scorer with 112 points before being surpassed in 2016; Tallied 45 goals and 22 assists during her career, both in the top three in Fairfield's annals; Placed in Fairfield's top two for scoring in all four of her seasons; Tallied 16 goals both as a sophomore and as a junior

Goalkeeper
Zoe Rosen (2017-Present) – Garnered 2019 All-NEC 2nd Team laurels; Served as the team's starting goalkeeper in the last two campaigns; During those years, received the nod in 40 of the team's 41 games; Has 171 saves over her three years with the Stags over 2,820 minutes; Earned a 1.56 career goals against average; Ranked second in the nation for winning percentage (.857) and 14th in Division I with a 1.18 goals against average as a junior
 
Reserves
Caitlin Bennett (2013-16) – Named to 2016 All-MAAC 1st Team; Four-year starter that led to 69 starts in 71 appearances; Made 377 saves over her career, turning away a personal-best 116 shots as a senior; Played just over 4,800 minutes at Fairfield, leading to her 2.47 career goals against average; Registered five shutouts and combined for one more during her four-year stay

Jaclyn Gallagher (2014-17) – Postseason honors included 2014 America East All-Rookie, 2016 All-MAAC 2nd Team, and 2017 All-MAAC 2nd Team; Played in 78 games over four years which included 59 starts; Contributed three defensive saves including a pair during the 2015 season; Made an impact offensively with 11 goals and 16 assists, highlighted by 15 points off four goals and seven assists as a senior; Just missed that point total with 14 as a junior, most of which came off eight assists. Posted one game-winning goal in each of her final three year

Emily Halderson (2017-Present) Gathered 2018 All-MAAC 2nd Team and 2019 All-NEC 2nd Team accolades; Key defender throughout her career who has helped anchor the Stags' defense; Played in 13 games as a freshman with one start; Started all 43 games played by the team over the last two seasons; Recorded three defensive saves in 2019, comprising half of the team's total; Tallied her first collegiate point with an assist in 2018 before posting a goal and an assist the following season

Kaitlyn Taddeo (2012-15) – Earned 2012 AE All-Rookie berth; Collected 39 career points during her 74 appearances; Opened her career with two goals and five assists in 2012; Tallied a personal-best three goals as a sophomore and tied that mark the following year; Paced the team in assists as a junior (8 assists) and as a senior (7 assists)
 
Wild Card
Corrinne Persichetti (2015-18) – Secured spot on 2018 All-MAAC 2nd Team; Played in 78 games during her four-year career, earning a start in all 21 games during her senior season; Excelled at setting up her teammates with nine of her 15 career points coming via the assist; Also picked up three goals during her career, all coming as a senior; One of her three goals was a game winner

Emily McCauley (2012-15) – Collected 2012 AE All-Rookie honors; Served as one of the team's top play makers by setting up 12 goals during her four years; Tallied five goals to go along with her 12 assists, giving her 22 career points from the midfield; Netted nine assists over her final two seasons
