Nowak Wraps Up Action at Oracle ITA Masters

Sophomore falls in the consolation bracket

MALIBU, Calif. – Amanda Nowak wrapped up the weekend representing Fairfield University Women's Tennis against the nation's best collegiate players on Friday at the Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu. Nowak fell in the consolation bracket to Anna Riedmiller of Denver.

Nowak, who earned the MAAC's invitation to the annual event as the returning MAAC Player and Rookie of the Year, was on the short side of a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Riedmiller – an all-conference performer for the reigning Summit League Champion Pioneers.

Earlier at the tournament, Nowak challenged student-athletes representing UCLA and USC.

Nowak earned MAAC Player and Rookie of the Year laurels as a freshman after an undefeated run through the conference at the No. 1 singles position. She was an All-MAAC First Team pick for the MAAC Championship Stags at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles alongside teammate and classmate Aina March.
