MILFORD, Conn. – Madison Banas carded a final round 76 (+4), moving into the individual top 10 to lead Fairfield University Women's Golf to a third place finish at the SHU Spring Invite on Monday at Great River Golf Club in Milford.

As a team, the Stags shot a 325 on Monday – a marked improvement their 348 on Sunday – to remain one stroke ahead of Hartford to secure third place. Fairfield also bested Monmouth, Holy Cross and Saint Francis Brooklyn on the team leaderboard.

Individually, Banas improved by 12 shots on her second trip through Great River Golf Club to climb into the top 10.
Alexa Brown also shaved several shots off of her Sunday score, posted an 81 to land in 12th place.

Riley Sullivan and
Taylor Rogers carded identical scores of the second straight day, following up their twin 87s on Sunday with a pair of 84s today to also finish in the top half of the 42-golfer field in 15th place.
Caroline Fischbach,
Arianna Palmeri,
Sydney Bardsley and
Katie Costello also each improved their scores in Monday's final round.

Host Sacred Heart turned in the best team round of the tournament on Monday to erase a 14-shot Siena lead and take the team crown by eight strokes. The Saint's Sara Riso carded an even par 72 today after Sunday's 74 (+2) to earn individual medalist honors.
