BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – In their final competition before the 2019 MAAC Championship, Fairfield University Women's Golf posted a second-place finish at the Hartford Women's Invitational. The Stags were paced by
Alexa Brown, who placed fourth in the 21-golfer field.
The Stags' second place finish slotted them ahead of host Hartford on the team leaderboard. Bucknell won the tournament, led by six of the top nine individual finishers.
Brown carded a 78 (+6) today after shooting 79 (+7) yesterday to nab fourth place with a 157 (+13).
Taylor Rogers also cracked the top-10 with a two-round 163 (+19).
Madison Banas and
Riley Sullivan climbed one and three spots up the leaderboard, respectively, in Sunday's final round at Tumble Brook Country Club.
Medalist honors went to Bucknell's Meredith Langs, who led the Bison to victory with a 150 (+6) to top Hartford's Maria Loza by one stroke.
The 2019 MAAC Championship tees off from Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. with 54 holes of action beginning on Thursday, April 18.
