Stags Conclude 2019 Season at NCAA Northeast Regional Championship

Robert Dillon sets the pace for Fairfield

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Fairfield University Men's Cross Country completed the 2019 campaign on Friday afternoon at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship in Buffalo, N.Y. The Stags were led by Robert Dillon on the 10K course at the University at Buffalo.
 
Dillon clocked in at 31:33.0 to place 160th – besting more than 100 runners in the 268-harrier field representing the best in the region. Benjamin Breton was the second Stag to cross the finish line with a time of 32:36.4.
 
Rounding out Fairfield's seven competitors today were James VIzzard, Pacifico Flores, Ryan Brennan, Mike Dziuba and Aidan Donovan. Of today's septet, Brennan completed his Fairfield career this afternoon, while the other six are slated to return for the 2020 season.
 
With a 34th place finish, the Stags topped Sacred Heart, St. Bonaventure and Niagara on the team leaderboard.
 
The NCAA Northeast Regional Championship was claimed by Harvard as the Crimson boasted three of the top five individual finishers. The race's pacesetter was Alex Masai of Hofstra, who beat the field with a time of 28:42.3.
