Brown Leads Stags in Fall Finale

Junior finishes two shots off the pace, Fairfield places fourth

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Alexa Brown finished two shots off the individual pace to lead Fairfield University Women's Golf in their fall finale at the Vanessa Picciotto Perrine Memorial Intercollegiate. As a team, the Stags placed fourth after 36 holes at Richmond County Country Club on Staten Island.

Fairfield's fourth place finish slotted them ahead of LIU and Niagara on the team leaderboard. Monmouth won the crown, paced by Paige Diecidue, who was one of three golfers to share the individual lead with a 161 (+17) over two rounds.

Brown finished the day with a 163 (+19) to sit in sixth place. She was just two shots behind Diecidue and Niagara's duo of Sarah Godfrey and Susan Leone that split first place.

The Fairfield duo of Mariana Antaya and Riley Rullivan improved their scores by five and seven shots, respectively, from Round 1 to Round 2 to finish tied in 19th place. Annika Johnson shaved two strokes off of her game and Madison Banas improved by 11 shots. Rounding out the Stags on the course was Taylor Rogers, who took three fewer shots in Tuesday's final round.

Fairfield's spring 2020 slate will be announced in the coming weeks on FairfieldStags.com.
