HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.-A strong final round score of two over par, which tied for the lowest individual score of any golfer on the day, lifted Fairfield senior Katelynn Waclawski eleven spots on the leaderboard for Tuesday's final round of the St. John's Invitational taking place at the St. Andrews Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. and into a three-way tie for first place for the 36-hole, 71-golfer event. After posting a +10 over Monday's first 18 holes of play, the reigning MAAC women's golfer of the week improved her score by eight shots on Tuesday to finish in a first place tie with Lily Huynh of host St. John's and Quinnipiac's Natalie Spiska.
The Stags, who headed in Tuesday's final round with a one shot lead over host St. John's, finished in second place in the team standings at +70 for the 36-holes, eight shots in back of the Johnnies. Fairfield edged third place Quinnipiac by one stroke over the two days.
After holding a one-shot lead heading into the final round, Chulathida Seema slipped to a five-way ninth place tie at +16 for the tournament along with Sofia Nogalo, who participated in the event as an individual. Seema shot a final found +13 after a +3 over the first 18 holes. Nogalo went +6 on Tuesday after going +10 on Monday.
Addie Chang finished play in the St. John's Invitational at +20 for the two rounds after a final round +11.
Ainhoa Jauregi at +23 and Grace Windfelder at +32 rounded out the Fairfield players in action over the 36-holes of action in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.
Up next, the Fairfield women's golf team will have their final action prior to the 2026 MAAC Championship that will take place in Lake Buena Vista, Florida from April 21 through 23, when the Stags with host a dual match with Siena on Monday, April 13 at the H. Smith Richardson Golf Club in Fairfield.
