BOSTON – Fairfield University Men's Cross Country hit the course at Franklin Park in Boston on Saturday for the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championship.
Robert Dillon led the effort as the Stags kicked off their 2019 Championship Season with a 17th place finish.

On the team leaderboard, Fairfield ranked ahead of Bridgewater State, Hartford, UMass Lowell, Bryant, Southern New Hampshire, Bentley, Sacred Heart and St. Anselm. Providence won the New England Championship with all five of their scorers among the first 14 finishers.

Dillon completed the 8K in 25:57.6 to finish 48th in a field of 170 runners.
Benjamin Breton was also in the top half of the field, slotting 82nd with a time of 26:31.8.
James Vizzard,
Pacifico Flores and
Mike Dziuba comprised the rest of Fairfield's scoring quintet.

Ezra Mutai of American International set the individual pace with a winning time of 24:16.2.

The Stags also fielded a team in the Sub-Varsity 8K, which was led by
Devin Flores and
Nick Rispoli.

Up next, the Stags will take a break from Championship Season to compete in the CCSU Mini Meet on Oct. 25 in their final tune-up before the 2019 MAAC Championship.
