Friends of Baseball ‘Hot Stove’ Reception is February 7

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – With the 2019 season quickly approaching, the Fairfield University Friends of Baseball will host their 'Hot Stove' reception on February 7 at the Park Ave Tavern in New York City. The event will be run from 6-9pm and will include speeches from the current Fairfield baseball coaching staff as they preview the 2019 season.

"The Hot Stove has become an annual event for alumni network, and is something I look forward to every winter," Head Coach Bill Currier said. "My staff and I are excited to connect with our alumni, parents, and friends of Fairfield Baseball."

Entering his eighth season as Fairfield's head coach, the two-time MAAC Coach of the Year Bill Currier will provide preseason insight on the Stags squad as they get ready for the campaign. Last year, over 35 alumni attended the event where they had the chance to hear updates on where the baseball program is currently, and where the program hopes to be heading into the future while also reconnecting with former teammates and friends.

The Stags will be led by 2018 All-MAAC First Team pitcher in senior starter John Signore, who enters his final season in the top-5 in five different Fairfield pitching categories. Signore was also honored by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) last season, receiving Second Team honors.

Fairfield, who has averaged 28 wins over the last three seasons, will start the season in Cary, N.C., when they open a four-game series against Penn State on Friday, Feb. 22.
