Stags Place 10th at Hartford Hawks Invitational

Sunday’s final round cancelled due to expected rain

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Golf returned to action for 18 holes at the Hartford Hawks Invitational today at Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield. The Stags placed 10th after today's opening round, which will stand as the final result after Sunday's final round was cancelled due to the expectation of inclement weather.
 
Taylor Rogers and Arianna Palmeri each posted an 86 to pace the Stags on the individual leaderboard. Madison Banas added an 88 and Sydney Bardsley carded a 96.
 
Fairleigh Dickinson won the team title with a 298, topping Sacred Heart by one stroke. The Pioneers' Alejandra Perez claimed medalist honors with a 70 (-2) to beat the field by two shots.
 
With Sunday's action cancelled, the Stags are now set to return to the links next weekend at the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course. The opening round tees off on Friday, April 20.
