BUFFALO, N.Y. – Kaylee Bergen led the way in her final meet with Fairfield University Women's Cross Country as the Stags concluded the 2018 fall season on Friday at the NCAA Northeast Region Championship. The Stags placed 32nd at the 6K race guided by Bergen's time of 24:37.6 at Audubon Golf Course in Buffalo.

Bergen's pacesetting mark slotted her in 165th in the 243-runner field. She was followed by rookies
Mia Melao (25:28.5) and
Alex Villalba (25:48.5). Also hitting the course for the Stags today were
Kelsi Farren (26:06.6),
Jane Frawley (26:07.8) and senior
Katie Kern (26:38.8).

On the team leaderboard, Fairfield placed ahead of three familiar foes: MAAC opponent Niagara as well as Hartford and Bryant.

#20 Columbia won the NCAA Northeast Region Championship, led by four of the meet's top-10 finishers. Fellow Ivy League squads #27 Dartmouth and Yale finished second and third, respectively. Shannon Malone of #25 Syracuse was the individual champion with a winning time of 21:28.7.
