Breton, Brennan Set Pace for Fairfield at New England Championship

Stags place 24th at Franklin Park

BOSTON – Benjamin Breton set the pace for Fairfield University Men's Cross Country with a time of 26:58.4 on the 8K course at Franklin Park on Saturday for the 2018 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championship in Boston. The Stags placed 24th on the team leaderboard.
 
Breton was followed across the finish line by Ryan Brennan's time of 27:16.2. Scott Daly completed his run in 27:28.9, Connor Secora clocked in 27:44.5 and Mike Dziuba scored for the Stags with a time of 27:58.6.
 
UMass won the New England Championship, led by five of the 25 finishers. Leakey Kipkosgei of American International earned the individual crown with a time of 24:08.8.
 
Up next, the Stags will tune up at the CCSU Mini-Meet on Oct. 19 leading up to the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship Meet on Saturday, Oct. 27 at The Crossings of Colonie in Loudonville, N.Y.
