FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Women's Cross Country travels to Franklin Park in Boston to begin its Championship Season this Saturday for the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championship. The Stags will compete in the 5K New England Championship Meet beginning at 11 a.m.
 
In their last time out, Mia Melao placed fifth individually to lead the Stags at the Ted Owen Invitational, followed by Kaylee Berge and Molly Silvestri in 11th and 12th place, respectively. Alex Villalba and Rachel Martin also crossed the line in the top half of the 82-runner field in New Britain.
 
After Saturday's meet, the Stags will tune up at the CCSU Mini-Meet on Oct. 19 leading up to the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship Meet on Saturday, Oct. 27 at The Crossings of Colonie in Loudonville, N.Y.
