LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Kaylee Bergen led Fairfield University Women's Cross Country with a 41st-place finish on Saturday afternoon at the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship at The Crossings of Colonie in Loudonville, N.Y. Three Stags clocked in personal-best 6K times at the meet.

Bergen's time of 23:32.1 slotted her at 41st in the field of 149 runners. The senior also paced the Stags at the MAAC Championship in 2017.

Competing in her first MAAC Championship,
Mia Melao also finished in the top half of the field with a 61st-place time of 23:58.5.
Rachel Martin,
Kelsi Farren and
Molly Silvestri comprised the quintet of runners to score for the Stags.

Farren,
Devyn O'Brien and
Tara Cirillo all established new personal-best 6K times on Saturday. Also competing for the Stags were six rookie runners participating in the first 6K of their collegiate careers.

The Stags' ninth place team finish slotted them ahead of Niagara and Saint Peter's on the team leaderboard. Iona won the MAAC Championship handily with five of the top seven and seven of the top nine finishers. The Gaels were led by Egle Morenaite, who set the pace with the time of 21:11.4.
