LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Fairfield University Men's Cross Country finished ninth at the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, contested this morning at The Crossings of Colonie in Loudonville, N.Y.
Benjamin Breton and
Scott Daly set the pace for the Stags, finished 58th and 60th, respectively, in a field of 140 runners.

Breton clocked in at 27:00.0, while Daly completed the 8K course in 27:05.6. Rounding out the Stags' scoring quintet at the meet were
Ryan Brennan (27:37.1),
Connor Secora (27:38.8) and
Mike Bodie (27:47.3).

Fairfield, which opened the season on the same course for the Siena Invitational on Sept. 8, showed marked improvement from last month's meet. All eight Stags to compete at the Siena Invite improved their 8K time at this morning's championship.

The Stags' ninth place team finish slotted them ahead of Niagara and Saint Peter's on the team leaderboard. Iona won the MAAC Championship for the 28th consecutive season, placing the top three runners guided by individual MAAC Champion Liam Dee's winning time of 25:01.0.
