FAIRFIELD, Conn. – For the second consecutive weekend, Fairfield Men's Cross Country heads to Long Island as the Stags visit Stony Brook on Saturday, Sept. 9 for the Wolfie Invitational. The 8K race is slated to commence at 11:15a.m.
 
Fairfield will join the host Seawolves along with Marist, Seton Hall and Monroe in the five-team field.
 
Last Saturday, the Stags were led by Benjamin Breton's 24th-place time of 20:21.6 in the 6K Marist Invitational. Four of Fairfield's scoring quintet at Vassar Farm were freshmen as Breton was followed by Scott Daly, Connor Secora, Nick Rispoli and Mike Dziuba. The Stags placed third at the meet behind MAAC opponents Marist and Iona.
 
Next Friday, the Stags make a third consecutive trip to New York, this time visiting the Bronx for the Br. Doyle Meet of Champions hosted by Iona.
