Women’s Soccer Hosts a ‘Red Out’ on Wednesday Night

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Fairfield University Women's Soccer team will be hosting a "Red Out" on Wednesday night when the squad hosts in-state rival Quinnipiac in a key conference matchup slated for 7pm. The women's soccer program will also be raising money in support of the American Heart Association, the nation's leader in CPR education training. As part of the "Red Out" promotion, the first 200 students will receive a red Fairfield soccer scarf.

IN CASE YOU MISSED: Sara Plowman set a new career-high with her third goal of the season, but it was not enough to overcome Rider's four goals output. Plowman's team leading tying third score of the year was created when classmate Jenny Jacobs sent a pass over the head of the defender that Plowman was able to one-time into the net. At the time, that cut the Fairfield deficit in half at 2-1. The Stags looked like they had tied the game when Alex Madden set up a counterattack by racing by the defense and finding Liz Dumas inside the box and the freshman converted her chance into the lower right corner. However, the Stags were ruled offsides on the play, negating the score. Madden almost tied the score again a few minutes later, but her rifled shot was hit over the crossbar to keep the Broncs' at 2-1.
