BRONX, N.Y. – Scott Daly placed 36th in a field of 100 runners to lead Fairfield University Men's Cross Country at Van Cortlandt Park this morning at the Br. Doyle Meet of Champions. Daly turned in a time of 27:33.7 on the 8K course as the Stags placed seventh among Division I competition and 10th overall.
Also scoring for the Stags were
Connor Secora (29:09.9),
Mike Bodie (29:55.9),
Ryan Brennan (30:01.1) and Mike Dziuba (30:13.1) as Fairfield totaled a team score of 287.
Timothy Salit (30:47.0) and
Stephen Jastrzembski (33:17.1) also hit the course this morning in the Bronx.
Today's field included seven regionally-ranked and four nationally-ranked teams, highlighted by a pair of USTFCCCA top-10 squads in #5 Arkansas and #9 Iona. #30 nationally-ranked Columbia won the meet with three of the top four attached finishers, including overall pacesetter Ryan Thomas (25:31.7).
The Stags will be back in action next Saturday, Sept. 23 at Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain for the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State.
