BLOOMFIELD, Conn. – Olivia Brooks carded one of the best final-round performances of the day to lead the Fairfield University women's golf team at the Hartford Women's Invitational. Brooks placed fourth individually and the Stags aggregated for a fifth-place showing.
Brooks turned in a two-day 157 (79-78) to finish fourth strokes off the pace. Molly Hair also placed in the top 10 with a 160 (81-79) to wrap up the weekend in ninth place.
Rounding out the event for the Stags were Danielle Dalessandro (166), Michelle Applegate (182) and Sara Quinn (187).
The Stags combined for a fifth-place 665, finishing 12 shots behind fourth-place Hartford. The team crown went to Quinnipiac with a 637.
Individually, medalist honors were shared by Quinnipiac's Luciana Tobia and Sacred Heart's Chelsea Sedlar at 153.
Coming up on the spring slate, the Stags will play at the one-day Hawk Invitational and the 36-hole Sacred Heart Spring Invitational prior to the 2016 MAAC Championship. The conference squads will convene on April 22-24 at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
