Women's Tennis Blanks Manhattan, 7-0

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – The Fairfield University women's tennis team blanked Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe Manhattan, 7-0, on Wednesday, April 15 for their fifth conference win of the 2015 campaign at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Fairfield swept the doubles point before posting singles victories in all six spots.

The Fairfield duo of Allison Radde and Helen Abbot defeated Manhattan's Caitlin Bricketto and Alyssa Rosello, 8-4, in the No. 1 spot while the Stags' Emma Samson and Sarah Stuhlmann edged the Jaspers' Gabriella Leon and Diana Onichshenko, 8-4, in the No. 2 slot. At No. 3 doubles, Kaila Nelson and Meghan Zimmer won by default.

At No. 1 singles, Radde defeated Leon, 6-0, 6-3, while Stuhlmann clipped Bricketto, 6-2, 6-3, in the No. 2 spot. At No. 3 singles was Nicole Aragones who downed Rosello, 6-0, 6-1, while Abbot blanked Onichshenko, 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 4 spot. Rounding out play for Fairfield was McKeough and Nelson who both won by default.

Fairfield (6-7; 5-2 MAAC) is scheduled to bring action home to the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts. The Stags will host conference foe Siena at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 for their final regular-season contest.
