Biography
2016-17: MAAC All-Academic Team… As a junior, was 2-6 in her singles matches playing at No. 6… Was 1-0 in conference play with a win over Rider… In doubles action, played primarily with Shelby Vertula at No. 3, going 4-4 overall… The duo was also 2-0 in conference play.
2015-16: MAAC All-Academic Team… During her sophomore season posted a 3-18 record, mainly at No. 3 singles… Had a 2-3 record against MAAC opponents with wins over Rider and Saint Peter's… Paired with Kern McKeough at No. 2 doubles to post a 2-8 record… Also played with Cecilia Parla in conference action for a 2-1 record, topping Siena and Saint Peter's.
2014-15: Mainly playing at No. 6 singles, in her freshman year Zimmer was 3-4 overall. She also went 1-1 in MAAC play and won in straight sets in her first conference match against Monmouth. Zimmer partnered with Karen McKeough at No. 3 doubles and the two were a perfect 4-0 with three wins in MAAC play.
Before Fairfield: Zimmer comes to Fairfield after being a four-year letterwinner at Spruce Creek High School where she competed in both doubles and singles. She competed at No. 1 doubles for all four seasons. Zimmer competed at No. 3 singles as a freshman, before competing at No. 2 singles as a sophomore. During her junior and senior campaigns, where she served as a team captain, she competed solely at No. 1 singles under the direction of Andy Bacha. Zimmer finished with an impressive 19-1 record in No. 1 doubles and a notable 17-4 record at No. 1 singles. She led the Hawks to four consecutive 5 Star Conference Championship titles in both singles and doubles as well as four District Championship titles in doubles. In 2011, 2012, and 2014, her team also earned Regional Championship titles. Zimmer was a two-time state semifinalist (singles) in 2011 and 2012. She earned First Team All-Area and First Team All-County honors all four seasons as a Hawk. Zimmer also garnered Daytona Beach News Journal Girls Tennis Player of the Year and Brighthouse Sports Network Girls Tennis Player of the Year for Volusia County accolades in 2013 and 2014. Zimmer also lettered in cross country and was a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated with the Superintendent's Diploma of Distinction and International Baccalaureate Diplomas.

Inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta Medical Honor Society...Magis Scholar...Studying in the Honors Program...Employed as Sodexo's Nutrition and Wellness Intern for Fairfield University...Does research in the Laboratory of Human Nutrition and Population Health, evaluating the impact of food assistance program participation on diet quality...Works in campus community garden...Teaches BI170-P (PLG) course to freshmen Biology majors.
