FAIRFIELD, Conn. – For the second day in a row the Fairfield University women's tennis team was in action on their home courts at the Walsh Athletic Center. The Stags hosted Providence on Wednesday and fell to the Friars 7-0.
At first singles, Nicole Aragones was able to push Alana Prinos to three sets before falling in the third (6-3, 5-7, 10-8). Sarah Stuhlmann was at the second spot and was forced to retire in the first set down 5-2. Meghan Zimmer, Courtney Connors, Gabriella Campos, and Cecilia Parla rounded out the Stag side, but none were able to take a set from the Friars.
In doubles action, Nicole Aragones paired with Sarah Stuhlmann at the number one spot for a 6-2 decision. Meghan Zimmer and Karen McKeough partnered for second doubles and lost 6-1. At third doubles was Cecilia Parla and Courtney Connors who were defeated 6-3.
The team will resume play on Tuesday, October 13 at 3:00 pm when they travel to Hartford.
