FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University women's tennis fell to Hartford 6-1 on Tuesday afternoon in Hartford.
At the number one doubles spot, Sarah Stuhlmann and Nicole Aragones fell 6-4. Karen McKeough and Meghan Zimmer edged Meredith Heitland and Emily Sneddon 6-3 at the number two spot. And at third doubles, Courtney Connors and Cecilia Parla dropped a 6-4 decision.
Stuhlmann competed at the number one singles and forced three sets before falling 6-3 in the third. Aragones topped Haber in three sets with scores of 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. Zimmer dropped straight sets 6-3, 6-2 to Sneddon in the No. 3 spot. McKeough lost in straight sets to Heitland, 6-1, 6-0.
The team is back on the courts beginning on October 22 for the USTA/ITA Northeast Regional Championship, the officials draws will be announced later this week.
