Men?s Tennis Hosts Villanova Tuesday

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University men's tennis team will host Villanova on Tuesday, April 22 at the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts. The first serve is set for 2:30pm.

Fairfield vs. Villanova: Tuesday's match will be the first dual the Stags and the Wildcats have played against one another since last year's match on April 11. In that contest, Fairfield fell to Villanova, 4-3, in Villanova, Pa. Dennis Zlobinsky defeated Max Levine, 7-5, 6-7(5), 10-6, in the No. 4 spot while Ofir Solomon downed the Wildcats' Mike Rosengren, 6-2, 7-5, in the No. 5 spot.

A Look at the Wildcats: Villanova is 4-16 on the season. The Wildcats have posted victories over La Salle, Bucknell, UConn, and Loyola Maryland. In their fall season, Villanova competed in three tournaments including the Villanova Invitational, Saint Joseph's Invitational, and the Quinnipiac Invitational. The Wildcats are coming off a 6-1 loss to Georgetown on April 16.  

Last Time Out: The Stags fell to the Stony Brook Seawolves, 4-0, on April 21 at the University Courts in Stony Brook, N.Y. After losing the doubles point, the Stags had unfinished matches in the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 5 spots.

Looking Ahead: Fairfield (10-8; 4-3 MAAC) will return to action at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Tournament. The 2014 MAAC Tournament will be held on April 26-27 in West Windsor, N.J.
