Men's Tennis Falls to Army, 6-1

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- The Fairfield University men's tennis team fell to Army, 6-1, this afternoon at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center. Sophomore Ofir Solomon scored the lone point for the Stags.
 
Fairfield's point of the day came at No. 3 singles where Solomon edged the Black Knights' Grant Riechmann, 7-6, 6-3.

At No. 1 singles, Ian Tesmond fell to Army's Asika Isoh, 4-6, 7-6, 10-8. In the No. 2 spot, George Tioutine dropped to the Black Knights' Sam Lampman, 6-3, 6-3. Dennis Zlobinksy fell, 6-2, 6-4, to Harrison McCormick in the No. 4 spot. Cameron Amyot was clipped by Army's Caison Best, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 5 singles while Bjorn Merinder dropped 6-1, 6-0 to the Black Knights' Alex Van Velzer in the No. 6 spot.

In doubles play, Fairfield duo Tesmond/Amyot fell to Army's duo Riechmann/McCormick, 8-5. At the No. 2 spot, Zlobinsky/Tioutine defeated Isoh/Van Velzer, 10-8. At No. 3 doubles, the Black Knights' Best/Lampman edged Stags pair Solomon/Merinder, 8-6.
 
Fairfield (8-4) is scheduled to take MAAC action on the road. The Stags will stop at Marist on April 2 before traveling to Niagara on April 5.
