Men's Tennis Hosts Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Fairfield University men's tennis team will host Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, February 22 at the Stamford Indoor Tennis Club in Stamford, Conn. The match is set for 7pm.
 
Fairfield vs. Fairleigh Dickinson: Saturday's match will be the first time the Stags and the Knights have faced one another since March 15, 2012. In that match, Fairfield fell to Fairleigh Dickinson, 5-2, in Palm Springs, Calif. Stags duo Ian Tesmond/Cameron Amyot edged Dominic Hemy/Peter Skvarka in an 8-6 match at No. 3 doubles. The Stags and the Knights have already met this season at the USTA Invitational on September 20-22 and the Columbia Classic on October 4-6. Tesmond defeated Fairleigh Dickinson's Arnaud Valentin, 6-3, 6-2 at the USTA Invitational, while senior Dennis Zlobinsky clipped Valentin, 6-5 (7-1), 6-2, at the Columbia Classic.
 
A Look at the Knights: Fairleigh Dickinson is 0-2 on the season. The Knights have fallen to NJIT and Lehigh. In their fall season, Fairleigh Dickinson competed in four tournaments including the Farnsworth/Princeton Invitational, USTA Invitational, Columbia Classic, and ITA Regional. The Knights are coming off a 5-2 loss to Lehigh on February 8.  
 
Last Time Out: Fairfield fell to Yale, 6-1, on February 8 at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in New Haven, Conn. Fairfield's point of the day came at No. 4 singles where Ofir Solomon edged the Bulldogs' Alex Hagermoser, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 1 singles, Tesmond fell to Yale's Tyler Lu, 6-3, 6-4. Amyot battled but ultimately fell, 6-5, 6-3, to Photos Photiades in the No. 3 spot. 
 
Looking Ahead: Fairfield (4-2) will take action on the road, stopping at UConn on February 26 followed by Citadel on March 1.
