The Fairfield University cross country team kept their legs fresh during the offseason by competing in six different meets throughout the spring and turning several strong performances.
At the Yale University Invitational on April 28,
Kyle Short ran the 5K in 15:30.41 while
Howie Rosas turned in a time of 15:27.95. In the 3000m steeplechase,
Connor Kelley had an impressive time of 10:00.74. In the 1500m,
John Lobo had a time of 4:12.23.
At the Widener Invitational on April 19,
Brian Cleary posted a time of 3:58.77 in the 1500m while rookie
Frank Segreto clocked a 1:58.34 in the 800m. At the AIC Yellow Jacket Invitational on April 6,
Kyle Wegner ran a 10:11.89 in the 3000m steeplechase. Two Stags had strong performances in the 1500m at Haverford as
Dan DeBlock posted a time of 4:02.35 while
Jake Ruskan had a time of 4:04.10.
At the Rider Invitational on April 13, the Stags had a solid showing in the 4x800 relay. The quartet of Short, Segreto, Cleary, and DeBlock posted a time of 7:58.68.
