Final Results
The Fairfield University women's golf team finished the 2013 Mount St. Mary's Spring Invitational in fifth place, with a 54-hole score of 984. The Stags shot 328-322-334 at the two-day event played on the par-72 Quail Valley Golf Course in Littlestown, Pa.
Olivia Brooks carded the Stags best round of the day on Tuesday with an 80 as she placed in a 16th place tie, the top spot for the Stags. She finished with a 54-hole score of 247, including a 78 in the opening round. Emma Ritzmann and Megan Feeney were both a stroke back in a 19th place tie for the Stags. Ritzmann carded an 88 on Tuesday, while Feeney shot 89. Both players were sub-80 in the second round on Monday, with Feeney putting up a team-best score of 75.
Katherine Rockwell finished with a three-round score of 251 to finish in 27th place. She shot an 84 on Tuesday, after opening 84-82. Elly Lemons rounded out the Fairfield effort with a final count of 254, good for 29th place. She shot her best round of the tournament on Tuesday with an 81.
Central Connecticut State won the team title with a final score of 927, 27 strokes clear of second place Robert Morris. Albrianna Farnum and Katie Reid, both of CCSY, shared first place with final scores of 228.
The Stags will have one last tune-up prior to the April 26-28 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships. Fairfield will play at the Peacock Golf Invitational on April 20 at the Delaware State Invitational in Queenstown, Md.
