Ritzmann Paces Women's Golf Second Place Finish At Quinnipiac Classic

Final Results

The Fairfield University women's shot 317 in the final round of the Quinnipiac Classic, the best round of the event, to finish second with a 36-hole score of 659. The Stags cut a 10-stroke round one deficit in half, but could not catch Appalachian State at the event played at the par-70 TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.

Emma Ritzmann shot a plus-6 round of 76 on Tuesday, the best round of any player during the event. The effort catapulted her from an eighth-place tie at the beginning of the day into a tie for third place. The junior carded 13 pars during Tuesday's round.

Rookie Danielle Dalessandro also played well on Tuesday, carving nine strokes off of her first round effort to score a 78. The effort moved her up five spots into a tie for sixth-place with a final tally of 165. A birdie three on the seventh hole highlighted Dalessandro's round that saw her score par or better on 11 holes.

Michelle Applegate and Olivia Brooks finished as part of a tie for 11th place, shooting 36 hole scores of 169. Brooks shot an 81 on the day with 10 holes of par or better, while Applegate shot an 82 after a round that saw birdies on the eighth and 12th holes.

Katie Rockwell finished in a tie for 15th place with a two-day score of 173, scoring par or better on 13 holes over the two rounds. Rounding out the Stags effort was Sara Quinn who shot 182, with five pars, to finish 22nd.

The event concluded the Stags fall schedule.
