First Round Results
The Fairfield University women's golf team shot an opening round 334 and is tied with Central Connecticut State University for 13th place at the Rutgers Women's Invitational. The 36-hole event is being played at the par-72 Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J.
Michelle Applegate is tied for 20th place, five strokes off of the lead, after an opening round 78. One struck behind is Emma Ritzmann who it part of a five-way tie for 27th place.
Olivia Brooks shot an 87 on Monday and is tied for 87th place. Katie Rockwell is tied for 99th place with an opening round 90 and Kate Heffernan rounded out the Fairfield effort with a 91 and tied for 101st place.
Delaware and Seton Hall are tied for first place, shooting equal rounds of 302 on Monday. The Pirates Erin McLure and Bucknell's Bridget Wilcox are tied for the individual lead with plus-one rounds of 73.
The 20-team event concludes on Tuesday morning.
