The Stags opened the second set by jumping out to a 16-9 lead. Niagara later closed the gap to 17-14 but Fairfield used a 4-1 spurt to gain some breathing room. The Purple Eagles closed the gap once more, pulling within 23-21, but kills by Moyer and Peizer gave the Stags the 25-21win.

Niagara was leading 19-16 when a Purple Eagles service error tipped the momentum into the Stags' favor. From that point on, Fairfield went on a 9-1 run en route to victory. During that stretch, O'Sullivan tied with a kill while Stapleton put the Stags on top, 22-20, with a kill of her own. After a Niagara timeout, Stapleton delivered another kill and then teamed with O'Sullivan for a block to make it a 23-20 advantage.
