BOSTON, Mass. -
The Fairfield University men's and women's cross country teams resumed action at the 101st running of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Cross Country Championships this afternoon at Franklin Park.

Junior Cate Forte was Fairfield's top-finisher in the women's 5K, finishing in a time of 19:05, two seconds off a personal best. Junior Maureen Crimmins had a time of 19:20 while classmate Maggie MacKenzie clocked a personal best of 19:25. Freshman Stef Vickers posted a time of 19:59 and was followed by junior Danielle Renzi in 20:19 and senior Molly Leidig in 20:54.

The Fairfield women placed 27th out of 43 teams. The University of New Hampshire was the women's team champion.

In the sub-varsity women's 5K, freshman Hayley Roberts registered a personal best of 19:53 while junior Michael Therrien finished in 20:31. Senior Danica Ceballos crossed the line in 20:53 while freshman Sarah Morrissettehad a time of 21:12. Rounding out the group were: sophomore Kathleen Woods in 21:19, senior Hillary Maxson in 22:06 and senior Juli Bassett in 22:25.

Fairfield returns to action on October 25 when the Stags travel to the CCSU Mini Meet in their final tune-up before the 2013 MAAC Championships.
