BOSTON, Mass. -
The Fairfield University men's and women's cross country teams resumed action at the 101st running of the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Cross Country Championships this afternoon at Franklin Park.

Senior Howie Rosas was the Stags' top-finisher for the third meet in a row with a time of 25:46 to place 70th overall in the men's 8K. Junior Connor Kelley clocked a time of 25:52 while senior John Lobo had a time of 26:05. Senior Brian Cleary crossed the line in 26:10 while rookie Nolan Parsley set a personal best of 26:19. Rounding out the top-six was junior Jake Ruskan who recorded a time of 26:53.

Junior Cate Forte was Fairfield's top-finisher in the women's 5K, finishing in a time of 19:05, two seconds off a personal best. Junior Maureen Crimmins had a time of 19:20 while classmate Maggie MacKenzie clocked a personal best of 19:25. Freshman Stef Vickers posted a time of 19:59 and was followed by junior Danielle Renzi in 20:19 and senior Molly Leidig in 20:54.

The Fairfield men placed 16th overall out of 41 teams. Central Connecticut State University was the men's team champion. The Fairfield women placed 27th out of 43 teams. The University of New Hampshire was the women's team champion.

In the sub-varsity men's 8K, freshman Sam Daly set a personal best of 26:21. Sophomores Dan DeBlock and Frank Segreto ran times of 28:03 and 28:55, respectively. In the sub-varsity women's 5K, freshman Hayley Roberts registered a personal best of 19:53 while junior Michael Therrien finished in 20:31. Senior Danica Ceballos crossed the line in 20:53 while freshman Sarah Morrissettehad a time of 21:12. Rounding out the group were: sophomore Kathleen Woods in 21:19, senior Hillary Maxson in 22:06 andsenior Juli Bassett in 22:25.

Fairfield returns to action on October 25 when the Stags travel to the CCSU Mini Meet in their final tune-up before the 2013 MAAC Championships.
