FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Ryan Olander, who graduated from Fairfield University in 2012, signed a professional contract with Naglis Palangos. The team is a top division team in Lithuania and has played two games so far.

Olander has played a key role in both of those games, starting with a 16-point performance in the season opener against Rudupis. He followed up with a team-high 19 points against Kalev/Cramo in an 84-75 loss. He has been an impact player early in the season, shooting 67 percent from the floor (12 of 18) and 73 percent from the free throw line (11 of 15). He is also playing better than 30 minutes per outing.

As a member of the Stags basketball program, Olander finished his career by leading the Stags to a 22-15 overall record and a berth in the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament semifinals. Olander was named to the All-MAAC team in 2010-11 and was a preseason All-MAAC selection in 2011-12. He played in more than 120 games during his career, averaging 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest.
