FAIRFIELD, Conn. ā Fairfield University Men's Basketball has announced the slate of 11 games that will comprise the Stags' 2025-26 non-conference schedule. The season tips off on Nov. 3 with action at Leo D. Mahoney Arena to begin on Nov. 14.Ā
The announced schedule features six home games and five road outings. The six non-conference home games and 10 MAAC home contests run Fairfield's total to 16 games at Leo D. Mahoney Arena. The Stags have not played 16 regular season home games since the 1993-94 campaign.Ā
The 2025-26 season opener will send the Stags to University Park, Pa. to meet Penn State on Monday, Nov. 3. The Stags have met the Nittany Lions twice in program history, falling in State College in 1976 and 2011. Penn State posted a 16-15 record last season, including Big Ten wins over #8 Purdue and at #12 Wisconsin.Ā
Up next is the only first-time opponent on the docket for the upcoming season when the Stags head to Newark on Saturday, Nov. 8 to challenge NJIT. Two days later, Fairfield heads to South Orange to clash with Seton Hall on Monday, Nov. 10 for the first time since a Stags' victory over the Pirates in 1980. Fairfield is 6-11 all-time against Seton Hall in a series dating back to 1956.Ā
Action comes to Mahoney Arena that weekend for the first-ever MTE held at the on-campus venue [more info] . The Stags will host Stonehill on Friday, Nov. 14 and Loyola Maryland on Sunday, Nov. 16, with the Skyhawks and Greyhound going head-to-head on Saturday, Nov. 15.Ā
For the first time since 1955, Fairfield Men's Basketball pays a visit to Le Moyne in Syracuse on Saturday, Nov. 22. The series with the Dolphins was renewed in 2023 ā when Le Moyne joined the Division I ranks ā after a nearly 70-year layoff with a 78-72 Stags' victory in Fairfield.Ā
The Stags will play two home games on the following week, bookending the Thanksgiving holiday. Fairfield hosts Columbia for its first visit to Mahoney Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 26 and welcomes New Hampshire on Sunday, Nov. 30 as the Stags and Wildcats tangle for the fourth consecutive season.Ā
The first week of December is reserved for a pair of Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference outings, which will be announced when the MAAC unveiled its full schedule. The Stags will resume the non-league ledger on Sunday, Dec. 14 at Mahoney Arena against Monmouth.Ā
To close out non-conference action, Fairfield heads to New Britain, Conn. for a return contest at CCSU following last season's one-point nailbiter, then the Stags are back at Mahoney Arena on Sunday, Dec. 21 to host the City College of New York.Ā
