FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Fairfield University Men's Basketball will host a multi-team event (MTE) at Leo D. Mahoney Arena as a part of the Stags' non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season. The three-day, three-game event will be held on Nov. 14-16 and will feature the Stags, Loyola University of Maryland and Stonehill College.
"We are thrilled to be hosting the first-ever MTE at Mahoney Arena this November. This is another critical step forward to achieve multiple strategic priorities: providing more competitive opportunities at home for our programs, enhancing the allure of our non-conference slate for our fans, and showcasing Mahoney Arena as a premier college basketball venue," said Vice President for Athletics
Paul Schlickmann. "This event fulfills a vision for our continued progression while serving as a vehicle to showcase Fairfield to our constituents as a destination for entertainment and engagement."
The tentative schedule will feature Fairfield hosting Stonehill on Friday, Nov. 14 and Loyola on Sunday, Nov. 16; the two visiting teams will go head-to-head at Mahoney Arena on Saturday, Nov. 15.
Fairfield will play Loyola for the first time since 2021 and the 63rd time in program history, dating back to 1977. The Stags last challenged Stonehill in 1986 and have met the Skyhawks on 22 occasions since 1952. Neither Fairfield nor Loyola have played Stonehill since the Skyhawks joined the Division I ranks beginning in the 2022-23 season.
"We are looking forward to hosting an MTE next season to introduce our fans to the 2025-26 Stags. Our guys feed off the atmosphere at Mahoney Arena, and we are excited for the additional opportunities to play on our home court early in the season," said Head Coach
Chris Casey. "Thank you to our administration and staff for supporting what is sure to be a great weekend of college basketball."
