The Fairfield women's tennis team clinched the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Regular Season Title after finishing a perfect 7-0.
Sophomore co-captains
Monica Yajima and
Sharissa Ryan have led the young squad through the year to a 12-6 overall record, and 7-0 in the MAAC, each of them holding an undefeated singles record in conference play. Ryan was also 7-0 in conference doubles play while Yajima currently holds a five-match winning streak, the longest on the team. Other standouts this season have been sophomore
Carolina Koladzyn who owns a 4-0 conference singles record,
Allison Radde who has started her collegiate career with an impressive freshman MAAC season finishing 5-2 in singles and 6-1 in doubles. Junior

Victoria Pirrello were both standout doubles players for the Stags, each finishing undefeated in conference play.
Tied for second place in the MAAC with 5-2 records are Loyola University Maryland and Marist College. Both with 3-4 records and tied for fourth, are Niagara University, Saint Peter's and Siena College. And rounding out the standings in seventh and eighth place are Manhattan College (2-5) and Rider University (0-7). Based on head to head competition, Marist was granted the #2 seed while Loyola took the #3 seed for the tournament. The #4 seed was determined after forming a mini-conference between the three teams tied for fourth. Saint Peter's came out on top with a 2-0 record against Niagara and Siena and will be the final team in the MAAC Tournament next weekend.
The MAAC Championship Tournament will start on Saturday, April 28 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J. Fairfield holds the #1 seed and will face the #4 seed, Saint Peter's, in a semifinal match at 12pm. Also at noon will be a semifinal between the #2 seed, Marist College and the #3 seed, Loyola University Maryland.
