NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. – The Fairfield University men's tennis team swept Niagara 7-0 in their spring MAAC opener.
The Stags started the day off by earning the lone doubles point with the help of three doubles victories. In the No. 3 spot, duo
Joe Michalisin and
Erik Kremheller defeated their Purple Eagles 8-1 while
Ian Tesmond and
Cameron Amyot battled Dufour Coursol and Schwojer and took the tie breaker to win the match.
Fairfield dominated throughout the singles matches. Senior
Dan Sauter defeated Joseph Zelic in the No. 1 spot 2-6, 7-5, 6-2. Also going three sets was senior Michalisin who defeated Brandon Gallegos 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 6-1.
The Stags will open at the Walsh Athletic Center Tennis Courts on March 29 against Hartford at 3pm.
