Men's Tennis Drops to St. Johns

QUEENS, N.Y. – The Fairfield men's tennis team dropped to St. John's this afternoon, 7-0.  The Stags now own a record of 5-1 in duals, while the Red Storm improve to 7-2 overall.

Senior Joe Michalisin battled in the number five singles spot dropping to Kurt Anbarci in three sets.    In No. 2 doubles, Michalisin paired with teammate and classmate, Dan Sauter and together they fought hard but came up short in a 9-7 match against Vasko Mladenov and Matty Najfeld.

Freshman Dennis Zlobinsky had a first set win in No. 2 singles, but couldn't finish dropping to Milo Hauk 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. 

Currently ranked 75 in the country, both the men's and women's teams head to Palm Springs, Calif. next week to take on Gonzaga University and Fairleigh Dickinson.
