PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The Fairfield men's tennis team concluded its trop to Palm Springs, Calif. with a loss to Fairleigh Dickinson University.  The Stags drops to 6-2 on the season with their 5-2 loss to the Knights. 

All of the doubles matches were close with Fairfield taking one of the three from Fairleigh Dickinson.  Duo Ian Tesmond and Cameron Amyot edged Hemy and Skvarka in an 8-6 match at No. 3 doubles.

In singles, the Stags earned wins in both the No. 4 spot with Dan Sauter and the No. 6 spot with Erik Kremheller.  Sauter defeated Mark Hemy in three sets.  After battling through the first two sets, the Stag quickly captured the final set earning with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-1 victory.  Kremheller defeated Dominic Hemy in two, 7-6 (4), 6-2.

Sophomore Tesmond went three sets in his matchup at No. 2 singles against Ibrahim Shams.  After capturing the first set, Tesmond could not secure the match dropping to the Knight 3-6, 7-6 (1), 6-1. 

At No. 5 singles, George Tioutine also captured the first set with a tiebreaker, but couldn't get by Peter Skvarka who defeated the Stag 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-3.

Fairfield will next take the courts on March 20, to face the University of Connecticut at 3pm in Storrs, Conn.
