BRONX, N.Y. – The Fairfield University men's cross country team closed out its 2012 campaign by capturing the IC4A University Race team title this afternoon at the 104th running of the IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park. Junior
Howie Rosas was the runner-up in the five-mile race, posting a time of 26:05.7.
The Stags, who placed third at the event last season, edged out Fordham University by one point for the team title. Rutgers University placed third while Siena College was fourth.
Sophomore
Connor Kelley posted a time of 26:19.0 to finish fifth overall while junior
John Lobo was eighth in a time of 26:24.9. In his final race as a Stag, senior
Kyle Short clocked a time of 26:43.3 to finish 16th overall. Sophomore
Jake Ruskan posted a time of 26:58.5 to finish 27th overall and seal the victory for Fairfield.

Brian Cleary posted a time of 27:27.6 while senior
Greg Chase clocked a time of 27:54.6 in his final event as a Stag. Freshman
Nick Carapezza had a time of 28:34.6 while sophomore
Kyle Wegner finished in 28:37.4.
