LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Fairfield University sophomore
Maureen Crimmins became the first Stag in a decade to earn All-MAAC honors at the 2012 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship at ESPN Wide World of Sports. The Stags placed fifth overall, up one spot from last season.
Crimmins posted a personal best in the 6K with a time of 22:28.92 to place 13th overall. She became the first Stag to earn All-MAAC accolades since 2002 when Erin Heslin garnered the honor.
The Stags top-seven all posted personal bests. Senior
Sam Goodnow was the next Stag across the line with a time of 22:59.21. Sophomore
Cate Forte followed in 23:09.31 while sophomore
Margaret MacKenzie had a time of 23:20.61. Sophomore
Danielle Renzi had a time of 23:33.44 while junior
Hillary Maxson finished in 23:54.04. Sophomore
Kelsey Murphy rounded out the top-seven with a time of 24:13.65.
Freshman
Kathleen Woods had a time of 24:13.65 while junior
Danica Ceballos finished in 24:40.63. Junior
Molly Leidig clocked a time of 24:43.08 while classmate
Juli Bassett ran a 24:59.54 for a personal best.
Senior
Meghan Sullivan had a time of 25:07.38 while sophomore
Michael Therrien finished in 25:34.13. Freshman
Nora Garrity had a time of 26:27.48 while freshman
Deirdre Simms finished in 26:46.30. Senior
Kerry Hamilton posted a time of 27:45.86.
In addition, six Stags earned MAAC All-Academic honors. Bassett, Ceballos, Hamilton, Maxson, Renzi, and Sullivan all earned a spot on the MAAC All-Academic Team.
Iona College repeated as women's champions while the Gaels' Marion Joly-Testault posted a winning time of 21:07.98. Marist College was the runner-up while Rider University took third. Loyola University Maryland finished fourth.

Fairfield returns to action on November 9 when the Stags co-host the 2012 NCAA Regionals at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, Conn.
