Men's Results
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – In their final tune-up before the conference championships, the Fairfield University men's cross country team finished fourth at the 5th Annual Fr. Laurence O'Neil, S.J. Invitational this morning on their North Benson Road campus.
Sophomore
Jake Ruskan was the Stags' top-finisher in the men's 8K, posting a time of 26:51 to place 17th overall. Senior
Dylan Fisher was right on his heels, posting a time of 26:53 to place 18th overall in his final home race. Freshman
Dan DeBlock had a time of 27:06 while classmate
Nick Carapezza finished in 27:32. Senior
Matt Boley crossed the finish line in 27:36 while sophomore
Kyle Wegner posted a time of 28:07. Freshman
Frank Segreto and senior
Ernie Lustenring rounded it out with times of 28:25 and 29:27, respectively.
Canisius won the men's team title with 25 points, snapping Fairfield's streak of three-consecutive wins. Siena (76) edged out Colgate University for second place by one point while Fairfield was fourth with 107 points. Wagner was fifth with 110 points and was followed by Molloy (152), Hartford (172), CCNY (252), and Bridgeport (272).
Fairfield travels to the 2012 MAAC Championships in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. on October 27 in a meet that will air on
ESPN3. The Stags wrap up their season on November 9 at the NCAA Regionals which they will co-host with Yale University at Hammonasset State Park in Madison, Conn.
