FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Senior
Kristen Macdonald earns Golfer Of The Month for March announced by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) earlier this evening. It is the first monthly award for Macdonald and the women's golf team so far this season.
Macdonald has earned the accolade after pacing the Stags in both tournaments this month, and finishing second overall in their match against CCSU. The Billerica, Mass. native was the team's top finisher at the Lonnie Barton Invitational helping Fairfield to a fourth overall finish out of nine teams. Individually, she tied for fourth overall out of 48 participants after carding a consistent 77 on both days for a 154, +10 total at the 36-hole event. Macdonald placed tied for 33rd at the C&F Bank Invitational out of 111 competitors after shooting a 78 and 84 on the two rounds for a 162 total, also a team best. Most recently, the Phillips Academy graduate finished second overall in the Stags match against CCSU on Bay Creek Golf Course. She shot a 79 and 82 on the two rounds to finish one stroke behind the match leader with a 161 total for the two rounds.
Macdonald and the women's golf team return to action April 11-12 when they participate in the University of Hartford Invitational on Rockledge Golf Course.
