Cross Country Finishes Season At ECAC-IC4A Champio

RIVERDALE, N.Y. –
The Fairfield University men's and women's cross country teams closed out their 2010 campaigns with solid outings at the 2010 ECAC/IC4A Championship at Van Cortlandt Park. The men's team placed 10th while the women's team placed 16th in the University Division races.
 
Freshman John Lobo (Baltimore, Md.) placed 37th overall in the men's 8K with a time of 26:45.6, the eighth-fastest by a Stag at Van Cortlandt Park in program history. Freshman Howie Rosas (Chestnut Ridge, N.J.) clocked a time of 26:45.8 to place 38th. Sophomore Kyle Short (Scottsdale, Ariz.) finished in 27:00.2 while freshman Brian Cleary (Ridgewood, N.J.) ran a 27:04.3, both times were also in the top-20 fastest by a Stag at Van Cortlandt.
 
Junior Matt Brunelle (Oakham, Mass.) had a time of 27:17.4 and was followed by senior Benjamin Heslin (Kensington, Conn.) in 27:21.2, junior Vin Ferrer (Belford, N.J.) in 27:47.2, sophomore Ernie Lustenring (Massapequa, N.Y.) in 28:30.2, freshman Zack Albert (Plantsville, Conn.) in 29:18.6, sophomore Dylan Fisher (Peterborough, N.H.) in 30:00.2 and senior Jeff Paul (Schenectady, N.Y.) in 31:54.6.
 
Sophomore Meghan Sullivan (Tampa, Fla.) placed 38th overall in the women's 5K with a time of 19:18.1, for the fastest-time ever by a Stag at Van Cortlandt Park.  Junior Kristen Golen (Malvern, Pa.) ran a time of 19:49.5 and was followed by Samantha Goodnow (Deerfield, N.H.) in 19:50.2 and Caroline Riley (Mystic, Conn.) in 20:12.4. Golen and Goodnow also secured spots in the all-time top-20 performances at Van Cortlandt Park.
 
Junior Emily Davis (Wethersfield, Conn.) finished in 20:40.1 while freshman Hillary Maxson (Saybrook, Conn.) finished in 20:57.6. Rounding out the Stags were junior Nikki Livesey (Livingston, N.J.) in 21:17.3, freshman Molly Leidig (Landenberg, Pa.) in 21:22.0, and sophomore Liz Butrick (Torrington, Conn.) in 23:10.7.
